Declan’s updates will continue tomorrow.
Tonight I will only post a few words…a sad event occurred in the PICU this evening and it again reminded me of the fragility of the life God has given us. We are not promised any time here on earth. None of us. We need to make the most of what was given us, enjoy every minute to the best of our ability and love those around us with all our heart.
Please pray for those with the heaviest hearts this evening…I know I will be.
Sherri, We continue to pray for you and all of the kids and families of the PICU. It is never easy to be in the PICU. You hit the nail on the head when you said lives are so fragile. It always seems these things happen to “other people”. Never those we know. Now that it is “people we know” we are left to shake our heads and wonder why. There is no why. Just “what is”. So we pray. We send you good thoughts. We redirect our good karma. Anything we can do to provide you strength so you can continue to show your amazing strength to us and Stan and your fabulous family and, of course, to baby Declan. We pray for you, for Declan, for your family, and for all of the kids and families of the PICU. Please may you all go home happy and healthy and ready to take on the world again. With much love, the McCoys
GOD WILL ALWAYS OFFER THE CARE FOR DECLAN AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HE HAS CONTROL ON HIS LIFE.
ALSO HE WILL TAKE CARE OF EACH OF HIS RELATIVES.
BLESSINGS THOUSAND.

Sherri, It wasn’t so long ago that our middle daughter was in the PICU, first at Fairfax and then at John’s Hopkins. While she was there I remember thinking that it always keeps things in perspective when everyone around you had a sick child. No matter how sick our little girl was, there was other children who were sicker, other families that were on their 18th visit to the hospital while this was the first one for our Caroline, and other families that lost their little children while ours was hanging on, getting stronger. She had several big purcedures, a major operation and is a healthy 9 year old today. We will continue praying that this chemo will kill that bad stuff and make little Declan better and stronger so he can heal himself. God be with you. Love, Theresa Happ Henry and the rest of the Henry Clan.
